The papers are then fed through the SSRG, where they are sheared against a bed knife. This creates scissor-cut granules of paper that are fed through a screen to create an even smaller shred size. These types of shredding trucks can handle up to 30,000 pounds of paper per hour.

Pierce and Tear Shredding Trucks

Pierce and tear shredding machines are just what they sound like. They use multiple rotating blades that punch holes in your documents before ripping the material into tiny pieces. This creates a random shred size that is infinitely more secure than the strip-cut shreds that an office shredder would create. A pierce and tear shredding truck can shred between 2,000 and 9,000 pounds of paper per hour.
