PROSHRED® DC is Shredding Cancer!
We want to fuel the fight against cancer with education and preventative resources. That’s why for the 6th year in a row, PROSHRED® DC will be participating in the Shred for Cancer Nationwide Shredding Event! Our DC location is just one of the many PROSHRED® franchise locations participating this year. Learn how shredding your secure documents at one of our on-site locations can help save lives.
Where It Began
It all started 6 years ago, when one of our fellow franchisees, David was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. His fight against cancer inspired us to fuel the fight against this disease. That’s when the Shred for Cancer event was born. Since then, we’ve dedicated each May and June to setting up community shred events and donating the proceeds to the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR).
How It Works
In honor of National Cancer Survivor’s Day, our secure shredding truck will be coming to a designated area near you. We encourage members of the community to come support a great cause and bring up to five boxes of documents per person to be securely shredded. For each box, we suggest a $10 donation – of which all of the proceeds will be going to the AICR’s research and education program. Everyone who participates will receive cancer prevention goodie bags for showing their support! With your help, we can achieve our goal of raising $55,000 dollars for the fight against cancer.
Why the AICR
Prevention is the best way to reduce the deaths associated with cancer, which is why all proceeds will be supporting the AICR’s research and education program. The AICR has been instrumental in conducting research and publishing informative guides on healthy lifestyle choices that can reduce the risk of cancer. The AICR has provided resources to thousands of Americans to inspire healthy habits.
