Shred Cancer: A Nationwide Event From PROSHRED® and The American Institute for Cancer Research

In the world of health and medicine June 1st marks an important day, as this date is National Cancer Survivors Day. Unfortunately, the spread of various forms of cancer has grown to affect countless families across the country and almost anyone now is either close to or acquainted with someone who has been affected by cancer in one way or another. This is why it is especially important now more than ever to raise awareness on the topic of cancer, cancer prevention, and the inspiring stories behind cancer survivors. PROSHRED® is excited to team up with the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) and pioneer the first annual Shred for Cancer Nationwide Shredding Event to help contribute to this worthy cause.

The American Institute of Cancer Research has worked with dedicated diligence since its conception in 1982 towards the prevention of cancer diseases. The idea of cancer prevention may have been met with initial skepticism, but we now know that approximately 1/3 of the most common cancers in the US are indeed preventable. The AICR has continued to lead the way in innovative research programs that help to assess how diet, nutrition, physical activity and other related topics can be applied to the prevention and management of cancer.  This unwavering commitment to science, technology, medicine, and health in their industry has helped change the way Americans see cancer and has contributed boundlessly towards continued development in this field.

PROSHRED® recognizes the valiant efforts of The AICR and is proud to join forces with this industry leader by introducing the 1st Annual Shred for Cancer Nationwide Shredding Event! This June 1st, in honor of National Cancer Survivors Day, all 26 PROSHRED® locations across the country will be teaming up to provide designated areas of on-site shredding trucks to safely and securely collect and dispose of your unwanted personal documents. Donations collected from these on-site shredding locations will go directly to The AICR to help support valuable cancer research.

With an estimated attendance of 6,000 people for PROSHRED®’s various on-site shredding locations, the opportunity to collect donations and make a significant impact on cancer prevention is truly endless. Your participation in National Cancer Survivor’s Day and the 1st Annual Shred for Cancer Nationwide Shredding Event helps you make a personal and intimate contribution towards cancer research, cancer prevention, and cancer awareness. Not to mention it serves dual purposes as it offers the perfect opportunity for you to dispose of those unwanted personal documents that can leave you susceptible to identity theft and other security risks.

Take a look online to see which PROSHRED® on-site shredding location is most convenient for you in preparation of this momentous event – with plenty of time still available to organize and gather your documents for disposal to have them ready to go when National Cancer Survivor’s Day comes. Help PROSHRED® help you and help to fight against cancer this year with the 1st Annual Shred for Cancer Nationwide Shredding Event coming soon to a city near you!
